Bismarck, N.D. –
Job Service North Dakota, the State agency for unemployment insurance and labor exchange, is reminding its customers its official online portal is jobsnd.com, and all of the agency’s information for workforce services is available on or via the Web site.
“We want our customers to know that www.jobsnd.com is still the official Web portal for all Job Service North Dakota services,” Job Service North Dakota Executive Director Maren Daley said. “We don’t want our customers to feel pressured into paying fees or divulging personal or proprietary information on Web sites that aren’t operated by Job Service.”
The Fakes
Anyone seeking Job Service assistance does not need to visit jobservicend.com, ndjobservice.com, jobs-nd.com, or other similarly named sites. Job Service North Dakota is not affiliated in any manner with these Web sites. In certain cases, these sites require a fee to obtain information that is readily available at no cost through Job Service North Dakota. Specifically, these sites often ask individuals to pay fees for filing unemployment insurance claims, which is a free service provided by Job Service
.
Job Service North Dakota has been working with the North Dakota Office of the Attorney General Consumer Protection Division to investigate Web sites not affiliated with Job Service or the State of North Dakota and provide advice to Job Service customers.
The Real Deal
Job Service makes available through www.jobsnd.com all information and applications necessary for filing unemployment insurance claims or quarterly reports, or accessing the agency’s other workforce programs and labor market data. Job Service does not charge fees for this information or the applications.
Daley asks Job Service customers and all Internet users to be cautious of Web sites that have misspellings or poor grammar, poor design quality, suspicious Web addresses, or other markings that may indicate the Web site is fraudulent. Such Web sites are sometimes designed to look like an authentic site, but are actually created to access money or personal information.
*Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem recommends that whenever people are unsure about a particular state agency's address, they go to the state's official site: www.nd.gov. An alphabetical listing of all agencies and their contact information are available on the site.
