JAMESTOWN - Southeast District Court records in Jamestown show that 42-year-old Shane Dockter of Streeter has been charged with Class C felonies of theft of property, terrorizing and felonious restraint. He's also charged with the Class A misdemeanors of unauthorized use of a vehicle and carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon prohibited.

Charging documents say a Stutsman County Sheriff's deputy responded to a call from Streeter Farmer's Elevator on the morning of February 16 that reported Dockter had stolen a pickup. The report says Dockter allegedly locked the doors of the vehicle and drove away with a passenger in the pickup. The passenger was uninjured after jumping from the vehicle a few blocks away.

Dockter was arrested later in the day by the Steele Police Department when he was found reportedly hiding in the sleeper compartment of a semi-trailer. Authorities say the pickup was located on the side of a road near Steele. Police say they found a handgun belonging to Dockter's father on him when he was being transfered from a police cruiser to the Kidder County Sheriff's Office.

Dockter was being held in the Stutsman County Correctional Center on a $100,000 bond. He faces up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine if convicted on the most serious charges.
