Wishek Man Injured in Sunday Crash

MANDAN - A two-vehicle crash near Mandan on Interstate 94 has injured the drivers from Wishek and Zap, ND.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 29-year-old Daniel Jurief of Wishek was westbound and 33-year-old Chasity Johnson of Zap was eastbound on the interstate at 7:13 p.m. Sunday.
Johnson attempted to enter the left lane to cross the median and continue eastbound. As her Hyundai was merging into the left lane, Jurief's Chevrolet struck the left side of the Hyundai. The Chevrolet entered the median and rolled, coming to rest on the driver's side. The Hyundai drove off the roadway on the north side. 

Both drivers sustained injuries in the crash. Jurief was transported to Sanford Hospital and Johnson was transported to St. Alexius Hospital.

This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
