BISMARCK - If it were a sports team there would be headlines referring to a "dynasty". A Jamestown LifeSmarts team has won the state championship for the eighth year in a row.
The North Dakota Attorney General's office announced on Wednesday that Jamestown LifeSmarts Team 1 had captured the title and will represent the state in the national championship competition April 21-24 in Pittsburgh.
Kindred High School took second and Jamestown High School Team 2 captured third place at the state competition.
JHS Team 1 is made up of (team captain) Ligia Schulz, Kalen Christensen, Cris Dupre, Courtnay Kiecker, and Julia Shirley. In the press release, Schulz said the team worked very hard to earn the state championship and look forward to competing at the national level.
Also in the release, team coach Marchel Krieger said that it's fun every year to have a different group of students and see their hard work pay off.
