CARRINGTON, ND - The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a Carrington man involved in a van/semi crash Sunday night was injured and charged in the incident.

The Patrol says 56-year-old Frances Gasper of Carrington was eastbound on Highway 52, two miles west of Carrington at 7:20 p.m..  Aron Rorokin, 65, Saint-Laurent, Quebec, was also eastbound when the hood on Gasper's Dodge Caravan unhooked and blew up against the windshield.

Sorokin quickly slowed his Kenworth semi, braked, and swerved to the right to avoid hitting the van.  But Gasper also swerved right and the semi struck the van. The vehicles entered the ditch and the van spun, striking the semi's passenger side.

The Patrol says  Gasper was taken to Carrington hospital and charged with DUI. Rorokin was uninjured.  The investigation is continuing.
