Teenage Boy Killed in Crash Near Jamestown

JAMESTOWN - A teenage boy died in a crash near Jamestown early Tuesday morning and the driver is being held on multiple charges.

 
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 54-year-old Wilmer Duane Nadeau of Fargo was eastbound on I-94 at 4:25 a.m. when the Dodge pickup he was driving entered the median and rolled. The 17-year-old passenger from Belcourt was ejected and died at the scene 5 miles east of Jamestown. Nadeau was injured and transported to Jamestown for medical treatment. After Nadeau was released, he was arrested for driving under the influence.

The Dodge was a stolen vehicle from a rural residence in the Spiritwood area. According to Stutsman County Correctional Center records, Nadeau is being held without bail on charges of driving under the influence and possession of stolen property (motor vehicle).

The Stutsman Co. Sheriff's Office is assisting the NDHP with the crash investigation and is the lead agency regarding the stolen vehicle.
