Residents Reminded of Fireworks Laws
JAMESTOWN - Police and fire officials want to remind Jamestown residents that within city limits fireworks may be set off from 9 a.m. to midnight from June 27 to July 3. On July 4 fireworks may be set off from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. July 5. All fireworks violations are Class B misdemeanors, which carry a maximum penalty of 30 days in prison and a $1,000 fine.

Across the state of North Dakota, fireworks sales are legal June 27 through July 5. Fireworks are banned in all North Dakota State Parks and violations carry a $50 fine. Fireworks are banned in all U.S. Army Corps of Engineers areas, U.S. National Parks lands, and U.S. National Forest areas with violations in those properties carrying a $125 fine.
