UPDATE: Jamestown Returns Incumbents to Office
JAMESTOWN - With all precincts reporting, unofficial results from the Stutsman County Auditor's office show Jamestown voters returned Mayor Katie Andersen to office with 1370 votes to challenger Pam Phillips' 924. Ramone Gumke was returned to the city council with 1487 votes to Dwaine Heinrich's 776. Park Board members Mike Landscoot and Larry Knoblich will return for another term. They will be joined by newcomer Richard Ryan, who edged out Kevin Miller for the position by a narrow margin of 1167 to 1137, respectively.

Voters elected former Jamestown School Superintendent Bob Toso to the school board with 1,480 votes. He will join Heidi Heim Larson, who was re-elected to the board with 1,833 votes and write-in candidate, Brenda Roemmich, who received 386 votes.

Unofficial results show 2,871 ballots cast in Stutsman County. County COO Casey Bradley said turnout was just as low as officials had expected.

A few people were initially turned away from the Jamestown Civic Center polling site because they lacked the voter identification now required by state law. Most reportedly crossed the street to the Department of Motor Vehicles office and returned to vote with a new ID.
