The basketball world lost another legend this morning, when it was announced that former Los Angeles Lakers, and all-time basketball great Jerry West passed away at the age of 86.

There was no details as of what the cause of death was, but West was a beloved figure of the franchise, bringing home a title in the 1971-1972 season.

West will go down as one of the best to ever do it, being a 3x Basketball Hall of Famer, as a Player, Coach, and Executive, well known for his time with the “Show Time” Lakers of 1976 – 1979. He was also the third player in NBA History to score a career total of 25,000 points, a 12x All-NBA Selection, and a member of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team. To add to his legendary career and legacy, West is also known as being the silhouette that makes up the NBA Logo that we all know today.

Rest in Peace Jerry West.
