A Burleigh County jury has found a Bismarck man guilty of terrorizing and other weapons offenses. Prosecutors say Daedyn Lewellyn was shot by police during a confrontation in May 2023. State’s Attorney Julie Lawyer says the entire situation was caused by Lewellyn and his actions. She said Lewellyn made Officer Damien Giradot fear for his life when he did not comply with commands and then reached for a gun in his waistband. Lawyer said that even after Lewellyn was shot, he still was reaching for his waistband.
