Ag commissioner Doug Goehring said that any farmers, ranchers, dealers, homeowners, or members of the public may bring unusable pesticides to one of eight Project Safe Send collection sites this July.

Project Safe Sound accepts old, unusable or banned pesticides that include herbicides, insecticides, rodenticides, and fungicides. Also saying that if containers appear to be deteriorating or leaking to store them in a larger container with absorbent materials.

No pre-registration is required, but the project does ask if anyone has 1000 pounds or more to pre-register, with a maximum of 5000 pounds per participant accepted. Project Safe Send is funded through product registration fees paid by pesticide manufacturers.

You can visit the North Dakota Department of Agriculture website to view the full list of dates and locations to safely dispose of those unusable pesticides.
