Police line Do not cross
An officer-involved shooting in Williston has left one man dead. Details about the encounter remain unclear, with only brief statements coming from the Williston Police Department. They say that officers responded to a call of a man armed with a knife around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. They claim upon arrival 31-year-old Matthew Austin Gullo became violent, resulting in officers shooting him. Gullo was taken to a hospital for treatment but later died. Very few other details are known at this time, and the account has not been verified by those outside of the department. The incident has been referred to the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
