Howard Anthony Studhorse, Grand Forks County Correctional Center

The North Dakota Supreme Court dismissed a man’s two convictions for sexual imposition in 2023.   63-year-old Howard Anthony Studhorse is serving 20 years in prison after convictions on five felonies and misdemeanor deprivation of a minor.   Studhorse appealed all of his convictions.   The state Supreme Court overturned two of the five, saying those two counts contained the same facts as the other counts and is an impermissible punishment.   Studhorse was resentenced and will still serve 20 years for the three standing convictions.  He will have 10 years of supervised probation after release.
