An apartment in Fargo was severely damaged in a Monday morning fire.   The Fargo Fire Department responded to the blaze on the 500 block of 29th Avenue North just after 6:00 a.m.   Crews reportedly saw smoke billowing out a ground floor window upon arrival and began evacuating residents.  All were able to escape unharmed according to the department, although a few needed assistance.  There was also a hostile dog inside the building that attacked and bit one of the firefighters who suffered minor injuries.

Residents of the apartment are currently displaced but most should be able to return home soon, except for those living in the unit that first caught fire that suffered the most extensive damage.
