The Minnesota Twins picked up right-hander Eiberson Castellano in the Rule 5 draft yesterday, who was a Philadelphia Phillies prospect.
Castellano spent most of last season with the High-A affiliate of the Phillies, the Jersey Shore BlueClaws. Castellano threw for a 4.12 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and pitched in 14 games over 12 starts. Castellano landed in Double-A with the Reading Fightin Phils, where he pitched to a 3.79 ERA.
Castellano has a three-pitch mix, having a fastball in the mid-90s, changeup in the mid-80s and a slider in the low-80s.
