The Bison defense has been the definition of SOLID throughout the 2024 College Football season so far.
The Bison are 2 wins away from making their way back to Frisco for another chance to play in the FCS Championship Game, but one familiar face has been missing from the defense all season long.
Safety Cole Wisniewski has missed all of the 2024 campaign after undergoing foot surgery before the season started. Wisniewski was an FCS All-American in 2023, and also tied the record for most interceptions in a season with 8, after he made the switch from linebacker to safety last season.
Unfortunately, Bison fans will not see Wisniewski make his return to the field wearing the patented Green and Gold in the Fargodome, Wisniewski announced he will be transferring to Texas Tech University for his last year of eligibility, moving from the Missouri Valley Football Conference to the Big 12. Trading in the Green and Gold, for Red and Black.
Wisniewski will be a good add for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, in his three years as a Bison player, Wisniewski collected 117 total tackles, 5 passes defended, and 8 interceptions, including a pick-6. Most of those stats coming from his move to safety during the 2023 season.
The #2 Bison will host #7 Mercer this Saturday, in the FCS Quarterfinal.
