Tim McGraw took to Instagram on Thursday (January 16) to share a video announcement for his historic upcoming show at the iconic Field of Dreams site in Dyersville, Iowa. On August 30, the country superstar will perform the first-ever concert held at the picturesque location where Kevin Costner’s beloved 1989 movie Field of Dreams was filmed. The baseball tie-in is a natural fit for the singer, whose late father was Tug McGraw, a relief pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies 1980 World Series winning team. In fact, the special show will be taking place on the day of Tug’s birthday. McGraw celebrated his father’s memory while making the announcement of his noteworthy performance, writing “I know my dad would have loved to see this one… Let’s make history together at the legendary @thefieldofdreamsmoviesite in Dyersville, IA, on August 30th! ⚾️” Pre-sale for the special event starts on January 21, with general on-sale beginning on January 24.
