The College Football season concluded Monday night when the Ohio State Buckeyes beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to claim their second national title in the College Football Playoff era.
Oddsmakers have put up new, early odds for the 2026 title game and the Texas Longhorns have the best odds to win, with Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, Penn State and Alabama following. The National Championship game will take place in Miami, Florida at Hard Rock Stadium on Jan. 19.
Ohio State is expected to keep important names like wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, but the Buckeyes will lose quarterback Will Howard, who has run out of eligibility. The redshirt senior is expected to be picked in the NFL draft.
