Recent reports indicate US Milk production had hit a slight low in the final two months of 2024. On a year-to-year average milk production in November was down 0.3% year over year, while in December seeing a drop of 0.4% compared to 2023.
Milk cows on farms however increased over 17,000 head when compared to 8.91 million in 2023.
HPAI has played a factor in the production with states like Ohio, Idaho, Michigan, California, Oklahoma, and Wyoming all having been identified as carrying the HPAI among herds.
