North Dakota House Bill 1335 would broaden North Dakotans’ eligibility for the homestead property tax credit, which is designed to eliminate property taxes on the primary resident of a North Dakotan who is at least 65 years old or disabled.
The bill would lower the age to qualify for the credit from 65 to 62. The bill would also raise the annual income threshold for qualifying from $40,000 to $70,000. The maximum qualifying income would raise from $70,000 to $100,000.
The House Finance and Taxation Committee is considering the bill.
