A former North Dakota National Guard employee filed a federal lawsuit on Wednesday against the Office of the Adjutant General, alleging years of workplace harassment. Kathleen Ronning-Schimetz claims she endured sexual harassment, assault, and political discrimination during her seven-year employment as a GIS specialist, leading to her resignation in January 2023. An internal investigation and EEOC review confirmed her allegations, including misconduct by supervisors Stephen Herda and Clark Johnson. The lawsuit seeks financial compensation and a jury trial. The Attorney General’s office has declined to comment on the pending litigation.
