Under North Dakota House Bill 1442, a new legislative task force would be created to review and analyze budgets and reports on the various state agencies and boards. If created, the task force would need to submit an annual report on legislative management about any potential cost-saving measures.
The report would also need to include any way to make things more efficient. Representative Nathan Toman says the idea is overdue and necessary to lower the size of government.
While nobody spoke against the bill, some members from the House Industry, Business and Labor Committee said further direction and formatting may need to be added to the bill.
