Jamestown City Council unanimously approved sending notices to residents who haven’t scheduled water meter replacements and imposed a $25 manual reading fee for non compliant accounts. About 81% of the citywide replacement project is complete, with 515 accounts still needing to contact VEPO to schedule installation of the new radio-read meters. These meters replace outdated equipment from the 1940s-60s. Fourth and fifth notices will be sent in coming weeks. The council also transferred ownership of 120 2nd St. NE to the Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp, which will share ownership with the Chamber of Commerce and Jamestown Tourism.
