Mass layoffs suddenly announced at Fargo Case New Holland plant

By Payton Gall Mar 7, 2025 | 5:16 PM

The Case New Holland plant in Fargo is laying off almost 200 workers, confirmed by a company spokesperson on Friday. The employees were notified earlier this week. The workers build tractors and loaders for the agriculture and construction industries, but “due to current and anticipated market conditions,” 198 hourly employees will be in need of a job, according to Kristina Post, a communications specialist with CNH. The workers did not receive a WARN notice, which protects them and their families by requiring large employers to provide at least 60 days of notice for mass layoffs or plant closures, with some exceptions for unforeseen business circumstances. However, this comes after a CNH Industrial America mass layoff of 175 people in Benson, Minnesota nearly a month ago. Job Service will be on site with information on how to file for unemployment insurance if necessary.
