Two horses that were hauled in a trailer were killed in a crash Friday morning at the intersection of Highways 83 and 23.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a 20-year-old man driving a van failed to yield at the intersection of the accident and struck the truck that was hauling the trailer with three horses. The driver with the horses, a 34-year-old woman, was treated for minor injuries. The van driver was not injured.
A family member of the 34-year-old woman told Your News Leader that she was traveling to horse shows and rodeos in the state over the next few days. The surviving horse was transported away from the crash location.
