As first reported by the Jamestown Sun, the Jamestown and Stutsman County Development Board of Directors unanimously approved on Monday that a loan of $1 million will be issued to the city of Jamestown.
The money will come if Senate Bill 2225 is approved in the state legislature, and it is currently in the House. The money will be used as matching dollars for a grant program that helps create residential housing. The bill would establish the Housing for Opportunity, Mobility and Empowerment (HOME) grant program in the North Dakota Department of Commerce.
The grant program would be funded one time and ends on June 30, 2027.
