The Minnesota Twins beat the New York Mets Wednesday, 4-3 in 10 innings. The winning run came across when Ty France hit a single to center field, scoring Bryon Buxton in the process.
The win pumped the Twins record up to 7-12 and the Mets dropped to 11-7.
The Twins also updated their injury list. Right fielder Matt Wallner will hit the 10-day injured list with a strained hamstring.
The outfielder avoided what was feared to be a potential long-term absence. Carlos Correa was removed from Tuesday’s game with a sore left wrist, but the infielder replaced shortstop Willi Castro in Wednesday’s game after the infielder left with mild tightness in his right oblique.
Correa did not hit and Mickey Gasper entered for him in the eighth to pinch hit.
