Former North Dakota school counselor faces child sex crime charges

A former school counselor from Petersburg, North Dakota, 49-year-old Brendon Thomas Parsley was hit with a new case involving child sex crimes after prosecutorial errors let him go last summer.

Parsley is charged with Class C felony sexual assault, Class C felony luring minors by computer and Class A misdemeanor solicitation of a minor. Two unnamed women were interviewed by law enforcement in December of 2023 and revealed Parsley had inappropriate sexual conversations and encounters with the women when they were minors. Parsley was issued a summons for his initial appearance.

The appearance is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on May 23 at the Nelson County Courthouse in Lakota.
