In an update on the fatal Monday accident, The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified 19-year-old Samantha Christiansen of Turtle Lake as the victim in a fatal crash in McLean County. Christiansen was driving southbound on Highway 41 north of Turtle Lake when she crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. The Tahoe’s driver, 80-year-old Larry Lee of Velva, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Trinity Health in Minot after initial treatment at CHI St. Alexius Health in Turtle Lake. His passenger, 82-year-old Margie Lee, sustained minor injuries. The crash, which occurred approximately 62 miles north of Bismarck, remains under investigation by authorities.
