Two people were injured Wednesday morning after a natural gas explosion at a food processing facility in north Fargo.
The Fargo Fire Department said its firefighters reported to the 300 block of 40th Street North at 9:27 a.m. Wednesday, where a gas explosion had occurred at Red River Commodities. Plant employees evacuated the building before firefighters arrived and the natural gas line had been shut off. One person was taken to the hospital with injuries while the other was treated at the scene. Firefighters extinguished the remaining smoldering material.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
