The Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corp. Board of Directors met on Monday according to the Jamestown Sun, approving a $1 million program to develop infrastructure like water and sewer for residential lots. If the city council approves it, the program would be completely funded by Jamestown’s economic development fund. With this grant, JSDC will fund 50% of a project’s infrastructure costs, while the developer covers the rest, similar to the HOME grant that failed in the North Dakota legislature. Mayor Heinrich says the intent of this program is to make lots affordable for people who want to build a house.
