Memorial Day events will begin in Jamestown at 9:00 a.m. with an observance program at Shady’s inside the Gladstone Inn & Suites. A naval ceremony will take place following at Nickeus Park Bridge.
Remembrances will be held throughout the morning and afternoon at cemeteries throughout the city, with a gathering at the Fort Seward Memorial Wall at 11:00 a.m. The All Vets Club will be hosting a lunch with a free-will offering at noon.
Other towns will also be holding services today, including Edgeley’s annual Memorial Day Service at the high school at 10:30 a.m., and Carrington holding their program at the cemetery at 11 a.m.
Valley City will be holding Military Honors Events throughout the morning at six cemeteries with performances by the city and high school bands at the Eagles Club at 11:30 a.m.
