Delon Evan Davis was found guilty of murder and related charges for shooting Mark Ramon McMillan during a drug dispute in April 2024. Davis wrapped McMillan’s body in an air mattress and hid it in a basement utility area for months before police discovered it in July. The killing occurred after McMillan accused Davis of stealing drugs and personal property. A witness heard gunshots during the confrontation and saw McMillan collapse after coming downstairs. Davis claimed self-defense, saying two men threatened him, but physical evidence showed only two bullets were fired – both found in McMillan’s body. Davis was convicted by a Ward County jury on May 22 after rejecting multiple plea deals.
