North Dakota confirmed two new measles cases in Grand Forks County linked to international travel, bringing the state total to 21 cases across three counties. Williams County has 13 cases, Cass County has six (including one hospitalization), and Grand Forks County now has two. All cases involve unvaccinated individuals. The outbreak began May 2, and health officials say it will take 42 days without new cases to declare it over. The state’s immunization director remains “cautiously optimistic” about the relatively slow spread but warns they are “a long ways” from ending the outbreak.
