More Agricultural groups are responding critically to the Make America Healthy Again Commission report, expressing concern over its messaging on crop protection tools. Nebraska’s Farm Bureau acknowledged the report’s praise for American farmers but took issue with its implications about chemical exposure, suggesting it unfairly connects modern farming practices to health risks. Referencing glyphosate exposure as creating a misleading narrative that could undermine confidence in agriculture.
Kansas’ Farm Bureau echoed those concerns, emphasizing that current farming practices meet strict EPA standards and should not be questioned without input from the agricultural community. Also criticizing the report for failing to include meaningful engagement with farmers during its development.
In response to the concerns, Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins reiterated that the report’s goal is not to demonize agriculture but to explore ways to improve public health while still supporting the food system.
