After being out the last couple of weeks due to concussion protocol, the Minnesota Twins will get a key piece of offense and defense back on the field.
Byron Buxton is expected to return to the field tonight for the Minnesota Twins, after a May 15th collision with Shortstop Carlos Correa after the two crashed into each other trying to get a fly ball. Correa returned just a couple days after the incident but Buxton was yet to return until tonight.
Buxton was a key cog in the Twins’ turn around in May where they won 14 straight games, leading the team in batting average with .261, and also leading the team in homeruns with 10.
The Twins will play a weekend series in Seattle Friday-Sunday, and will remain out west throughout early next week when they will travel to… Sacramento to take on the Athletics.
The Twins are coming off a series loss with the Tampa Bay Rays earlier this week, with offensive production being a problem in the absence of Buxton. Can the “Buck” get the Twins motivated for another hot streak? First pitch will be late tonight from Seattle at 9:10.
