The Minnesota Vikings announced during the teams return to the field for OTA’s they would be keeping around the man responsible for building the team and making the decisions that made the team what it is today.
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and the Vikings reached an agreement on a contract extension, but is not reported on how long the extension is. In the same offseason, the Vikings also reached an agreement with head coach Kevin O’Connell for five years, so its unclear if Adofo-Mensah has the same length of contract.
Adofo-Mensah has been with the team since 2022, and is responsible for bringing in some star contributors to Vikings team including draft picks, Jordan Addison, Dallas Turner, and the “New Hope” in the Vikings quarterback room J.J. McCarthy.
Aside from the draft, Adofo-Mensah also was responsible for also bringing in key players during free agency that contributed to the Vikings 14-3 2024 season including Outside Linebacker Alex Van Ginkel, Middle Linebacker Blake Cashman, running back Aaron Jones, and also acquiring tight end T.J. Hockenson via a trade with division rival Detroit a few years prior.
Despite quarterback questions and low expectations, the Vikings finished 14-3 in 2025 and were touted as potential Super Bowl contenders thanks to the consistent offense, and physical defense. With another year, with a healthy young quarterback and with a great offseason of moves, the expectations are high for this Minnesota team going into 2025, and not just for a playoff makable record in the regular season, but for a possible title coming to the teams trophy case.
