The North Dakota Department of Transportation has chosen a roundabout design for the U.S. Highway 52 and 10th Street Southeast intersection in Jamestown, with construction scheduled for summer 2027. The $9.2 million project will also reconstruct Business Loop West as a five-lane road with a two-way left-turn lane, costing an additional $6.5 million. Two bridges on Business Loop West will be replaced, and the project aims to improve traffic flow, bridge conditions, and pedestrian safety. In other city business, Jamestown approved selling four city-owned properties in southeast Jamestown, with proposals due August 15th. Minimum prices range from $2 to $2.50 per square foot. The city also approved annexing 7 acres near Walmart for a housing development and held the first reading of an ordinance to relax restrictions on keeping chickens within city limits, reducing required setbacks from neighbors’ homes.
