North Dakota Governor Kelly Armstrong has signed a bill passed in the legislature that requires all schools in the state to develop cardiac emergency care response plans.
This would include sporting events in the state, where cardiac arrest events remain highest. The bill gives schools until the 2027-28 school year to have defibrillators at schools and training programs for coaches, nurses, and other staff.
The plan will be designed and implemented by the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services.
