You may have seen viral videos of baseball players, clad in yellow, incorporating tricks and jokes into their baseball games. The Jamestown Sun reports that former University of Jamestown baseball player Jackson Bonneville is fighting for a chance to try out with the entertaining Savannah Bananas after illness derailed his college career. The 22-year-old lost 60 pounds due to a stomach illness that required gallbladder removal in August 2024. Bonneville, who has gained over 170,000 TikTok followers mimicking Aaron Rodgers, launched a “Road to Banana Ball” video series that caught the team’s attention. The Bananas’ recruiting director contacted him offering a workout opportunity. Given until October to prepare, Bonneville is working on trick moves like backflips and behind-the-back bounces while trying to gain 20 pounds. His message: “If you believe it, you can do it.”
