Former UND Star T.J. Oshie Announces Retirement

Former star of the University of North Dakota Men’s hockey team T.J. Oshie has announced his retirement after playing 16 season in the NHL for the St. Louis Blues and the Washington Capitals.

Oshie played three seasons at UND, finishing his time there with 142 points and played in 129 games.

Oshie was drafted to the St. Louis Blues in the first round of the 2005 NHL draft, where he spent 7 seasons from ’08-’09 to ’14-’15.

After his time in St. Louis was up, Oshie joined the Washington Capitals for the rest of his career from ’15-’16 to now, managing to capture the elusive Stanley Cup trophy in ’17-’18 when the Caps beat the newly joined Vegas Golden Knights.

Oshie finishes his 16-year career with 1010 games played, 302 goals scored, and adding 393 assists.
