From June 2nd to June 6th, young agricultural leaders from across the U.S. traveled to Washington, D.C., as part of the Young Farmer and Agriculturist (YFA) program to meet with lawmakers and advocate for issues critical to farming’s future.
The group engaged in discussions with congressional offices, USDA officials, and the American Farm Bureau Federation, focusing on challenges such as labor shortages, sustainable practices, trade, and the upcoming farm bill.
Key concerns also included improving access to land, financial tools, and training for new farmers. Through meetings with senators and House representatives, the YFA group worked to connect policymakers with the realities of modern farming and to ensure the next generation is equipped to lead agriculture forward.
