The North Dakota Securities Department is actively investigating Epic Companies, its former CEO and founder, and related parties. Epic was once a prominent commercial and apartment developer that closed its West Fargo offices over a year ago and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last July. The company and its executives face multiple lawsuits from investors and contractors claiming they’re owed money. Attorney General Drew Wrigley confirmed the investigation in June 2024, calling it a “concerning matter,” with his office now deferring to the securities department. The securities department cannot provide details due to the ongoing investigation but says it’s committed to reviewing matters that may impact investors and the public.
