Both US Corn and Soybean conditions improved throughout the week. Current planting progress ranks Corn 97% planted which is 3 points higher than last year and 87% emerged 4 points higher than last year with a rating of 71% good to excellent in condition.
Soybeans were reported 90% planted, 4 points higher than a year ago, with 75% emerged, and North Dakota was reported 11 points higher with 90% planted compared to last year.
Also noted was Winter Wheat being 88% headed, and Spring Wheat being 82% emerged.
Rainfall is expected across the northwestern Corn Belt, Southern Plains, Mississippi Delta and Southeast this week, cooler temperatures may slow crop development in northern states.
