A 34-year-old Florida man died Wednesday evening in a Cass County crash after his cement truck allegedly rolled through an intersection and was struck by a potato truck. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the Western Star cement truck was heading west on County Road 26 around 8:25 p.m. when the driver failed to stop at the Highway 18 intersection. A northbound Kenworth truck towing a trailer full of potatoes hit the cement truck as it crossed the intersection, causing the trailer to detach and spill potatoes into the roadside ditch. The cement truck driver from Fort Myers, Florida, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. The 78-year-old Kenworth driver from Minto suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
