The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing their investigation after explosive devices were found in a car on I-29 yesterday near Thompson.
NDHP says they stopped a car on Wednesday afternoon for illegal window tint. Inside were 41-year-old Gabriel Messmer and 42-year-old Christopher Knowles, both from Fargo.
Troopers claim that based on probable cause the vehicle was then searched and an explosive device was found. The NDHP then shut down southbound lanes of I-29 for multiple hours until the explosive device was detonated.
Messmer and Knowles are charged with felonies for possession an explosive device and other charges.
They have been booked in the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
