Valley News Live reports a West Fargo woman was arrested Friday night after fleeing a traffic stop at speeds reaching 80 mph in a 25 mph zone and crashing into road infrastructure.
Erin Sundby was pulled over around 11 p.m. on June 13th for driving without headlights and failing to signal. When the officer attempted the stop, Sundby immediately fled, reaching nearly 80 mph before losing control at the 13th Avenue East intersection. Her vehicle struck a raised median, nearly collided head-on with a pickup truck, then hit a road sign and light pole before stopping.
Sundby briefly exited her vehicle but got back in as the officer waited for backup. She was arrested without further incident. When questioned about why she fled, Sundby told officers it was because her license was suspended.
She now faces charges for fleeing a peace officer with a vehicle – marking her second offense of this charge. Court documents were obtained by Valley News Live.
