A Fargo man was cited Sunday night after causing two separate traffic crashes within blocks of each other.

The incidents occurred around 9:30 p.m. on June 15th, with crashes at the intersections of 11th Avenue South and 45th Street South, and 13th Avenue South and 45th Street South. Police say 46-year-old Victor Tonihka was the sole driver involved in both accidents.

According to Fargo Police, Tonihka first sideswiped a vehicle at 11th Avenue, then continued south without stopping. He failed to stop at a red light at 13th Avenue, causing a second crash involving three additional vehicles.

One person sustained minor injuries but was released at the scene. Tonihka was cited for running a red light, careless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident.
