It was another long weekend for the Minnesota Twins, more runs are being scored, more losses were tallied, and the injury bug continued to bite.
The Twins were swept this weekend on the road against the Houston Astros losing on Friday in blowout fashion yet again 10-3, losing Saturday on a walk off 3-2, and losing Sunday in extra innings 2-1.
The Twins have been in a slump to say the least, going 2-8 in their last 10 games, while being outscored 77-29 in that span.
To go with the offensive, defensive and pitching issues the team is currently going through, the Twins also had two more examples of the injury bug biting the team, with Byron Buxton being listed day-to-day, after he exited Saturdays game after being hit by a pitch, and being scratched from the game on Sunday.
And as expected by most of Twins Territory, Royce Lewis has yet again made his way to injured list after pulling his hamstring again landing on the 10-Day IL.
The Twins find themselves just 1 game over .500 at 36-35 before they head out on the road to take on the Cincinnati Reds, the Twins face a tough task taking on playoff caliber teams on their schedule while also at the same time trying to keep pace with AL Central Leading Detroit Tigers and the 3rd place Cleveland Guardians who are on the Twins heels just .5 a game back from second place behind the Twins.
The Twins schedule will not be easy as well, after their series with the Reds, the Twins will take on Milwaukee, Seattle for 4 games, and play a series with Detroit before the month of June closes out. Can the Twins go on another hot streak? The time may be now, before the hole is too deep to crawl out of.
