The trial for an alleged major drug ring leader in North Dakota has been postponed to October 28th.
Valley News Live first reported that Jessica Marie Trottier faces federal charges including conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, gun possession, money laundering, and witness tampering as part of a roughly dozen-person operation that trafficked drugs across eight states.
Police say the group moved massive quantities of drugs between 2021-2022, including about 50 pounds of methamphetamine, thousands of fentanyl pills, and marijuana across North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, and California.
The group was forced to forfeit roughly $40,000 and nearly 30 guns, several without serial numbers. Court documents list at least 20 co-conspirators, though not all were charged.
Several co-defendants have already been sentenced, including Brendan Tyler Moore to 15 years and others receiving sentences ranging from supervised probation to 12 years in prison.
Trottier’s trial was delayed from July after her defense requested more time to prepare.
